Background
Dr Hussain is a Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist with extensive experience of working with people with personality disorder, including in specialist services in medium and high secure hospitals. He has also worked with crisis resolution and home treatment teams, assertive outreach teams and psychiatric intensive care, and has trained and worked across the Midlands.
He has a particular interest in transcultural psychiatry, and in questions of capacity, justice and professional ethics.
Expert witness work
Dr Hussain has acted as an expert witness since 2021, providing written and oral evidence in cases involving violent and sexual offending, on fitness to plead, insanity, capacity to form intent and disposal.
