Background
Dr Tarrant is a Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist who has worked in secure services for women and for men with mental illness, and in a range of prisons, including remand, women’s and young offender establishments.
Before studying medicine he qualified and worked as a pharmacist.
Expert witness work
Dr Tarrant has acted as an expert witness since 2016, providing written and oral evidence to the Crown Court and the Parole Board in cases including sexual and violent offending, on fitness to plead and recommendations for disposal.
